“I started off in Fyreflyz as part of a 9 month internship programme provided by the school. At the start, I didn’t know what to pursue and was still unsure of my career path and ontop of that I didnt really enjoy what I was doing in school at that moment. However, Fyreflyz played a crucial role in helping me discover my passion for design by providing many different opportunities to work on different projects to strengthen my portfolio that has allowed me to pursue my new found interest in design. “It has been an amazing opportunity to be an intern at Fyreflyz under your direction. I didn’t know what to do, I wasn’t hopeful, and I didn’t know how to find my way when I first started. I had a really pessimistic outlook. All that started to change, though, with your guidance and the “Think. Plan. Do. Ask.” framework.
This approach has developed into an entirely new method of thinking rather than only a practice. I was inspired to think more critically, make strategic plans, act, and never be afraid to seek for support when I needed it. My perspective on things changed and my horizons broadened as a result of my experiences at Fyreflyz. I was able to improve both personally and professionally in the cooperative and encouraging environment.
I felt empowered to carry on this path by volunteering at Fyreflyz even after finishing the internship. It shows how far I’ve come, and now that I’m in a position where I can give back and assist other young people who could be in a similar situation to mine when I first started.
