#HumansOfFyreflyz (ft. Joey and Sean)

Welcome back to #HumansOfFyreflyz!

This time, we peek into the experiences of Joey and Sean, both of whom are the latest additions to the Fyreflyz Fam, our Multi-tasking Interns!

Joey has recently graduated from Ngee Ann Poly and is currently spending her time in Fyreflyz while waiting for her University term to start. Sean is a seasonal darts player and one day hopes to go Pro!

Having joined us for almost 2 months, we catch up with the young bloods and see how they’re faring and progressing.

Hey Joey and Sean! You’ve been here for almost two months already. Time sure flies! Can you talk about what you have learnt from your time here?

J: I’m learning more about the planning of an event and contrary to what I thought, there is a lot of work that goes on behind it! Coming here, I learnt that it is important to do what you love and love what you do, as this makes everyday work more enjoyable.

S: As a Multi-tasking Intern, I have touched on website maintenance to banner designs to Events in the 7 weeks that I have been here!

What do you like about Fyreflyz?

J: For me, the work environment in Fyreflyz is unlike any other places I have experienced. The office set-up is cosy and makes me feel at home. The friendly environment makes me unafraid to voice out any doubts I have. It also helps that the office is located at the centre of food paradise as there are many famous food places located all around our neighbourhood. Interning at Fyreflyz, I really got to see the definition of ‘Work hard & Play Hard’. Best of all, the people at Fyreflyz are also the best colleagues you could ask for as they are all one of a kind!

S: I agree with Joey, Fyreflyz is a very different experience from my previous jobs as well. I’ve always thought that my office experience would be something like, “Here’s the task, do it by this time” and I’ll be left alone to do it. At Fyreflyz, however, whenever I am stuck on a task and need guidance, my colleagues are always there to guide me through my problem and teach me as I go.

In your short two month stint in Fyreflyz, tell us one of your best moments or most unforgettable moments in Fyreflyz!

J & S: We both enjoyed the grill and steamboat dinner we had in the balcony at our office! It was a good bonding experience buying groceries and having a home-cooked meal together. There was also the birthday movie surprise for Jon’s birthday, where he thought that he was going for a meeting but we actually surprised him with Marvel Endgame tickets!

Tell us a Fun Fact about yourself!

J: I’m scared of heights but I’ve always wanted to try bungee jumping!

S: Uhm, I’m a casual gamer, darter, and currently, really into bikes, so, I’m hoping to work towards that goal now!

Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn.
