Meet the new intern of
#HumansofFyreflyz

We prepared a few questions about them to find out how they are adapting here at Fyreflyz! Let’s see what they say!

What are three things you’re looking forward to during your internship at Fyreflyz?

Iesya:

  • Building up a portfolio, making friends and mainly learning new skills while improving on the ones I already have. This is because I look forward to learning how to use new software and apps, making them useful in the future as well. Stacking up my
portfolio could also be very helpful, especially for getting jobs in the future.

Benedict:

  •  Room for improvements, new skills and experiences, and new friends and interactions are the top 3 things I’m looking forward to here in Fyreflyz! To actually get to do this is a workplace setting feels like a new experience, and more special than having to do all this in school, if you get what I mean. Because of that, it makes it a lot more exciting and it’ll definitely make me look forward to these three things here in Fyreflyz.

Somesh:

  • I want to use this internship as an opportunity to identify my strengths and weaknesses and use this internship as a chance to grow both personally and professionally, developing a wiser and broader mindset.

I also aim to meet new people and expand my creativity in planning workshops by creating more team bonding activities to bring the team closer, content, and video editing, becoming a more innovative and creative individual.

Lastly, I want to improve my communication and quick-thinking skills to work efficiently both independently and in a team.

Leon:

  • I’m looking forward to gaining hands-on experience in real-world projects that challenge my creativity and technical skills. I’m also excited to work closely with the team to improve our collaboration and overall work efficiency. Lastly, I look forward to contributing ideas that can make a meaningful impact on the company’s projects and clients.

How do you define success for yourself at this stage?

Iesya:

  • Success, to me, is learning and growing while also facing and overcoming fears along the way. I also see success in a way of not being afraid of making mistakes and speaking up to peers when I am in doubt. Speaking up is not only going to help me do my work more productively, but also get more comfortable with my seniors.

Benedict:

  • Success to me is being able to complete a task and getting good praises for something you did and/or are capable of doing, which is a goal I wish to achieve. Here in Fyreflyz, I hope to use this opportunity to achieve exactly that and maybe pick up some skills I never learned before.

Somesh:

  • At this stage in my life, my goal is to improve my photo and video editing skills and build confidence in public speaking. I plan to do this by actively participating in Rise and Thrive workshops, hosting sessions, engaging with attendees, and learning to use Canva and CapCut more efficiently.

Leon:

  • At this stage, I define success as being able to learn continuously while applying what I’ve learned to deliver quality work. It’s about growing both professionally and personally, developing confidence in my abilities, and being a reliable team member who adds value to every task or project I take on.

What’s one area you hope to grow or improve in during this internship?

Iesya:

  • One area I hope to improve on in this internship is my communication skills. This is more of a little personal goal of mine, to get more comfortable and social with the ones around me at work. Not doing so may be a disadvantage for me as getting feedback and advice is one of the key takeaways from this internship. Since I am going to be here for a while, I look forward to getting closer to my peers and not letting them down at the same time.

Benedict:

  • I hope I’ll be able to gain a taste of what it’s like to really work, like how a corporate environment as a whole would manage tasks or events. Along the way, I would like to seek out new things about tasks, like for Adobe Photoshop or photography, as well as learn new skillsets like using Capcut or helping facilitate events. Who knows? If I do a superb job, I might get the chance to work at Fyreflyz!

Somesh:

  • I hope to become proficient in being confident enough to ask questions without being afraid of what answers I would get and just learn to take things as constructive feedback and work towards it, while also learning from mistakes and always apply TPDA(Think , Plan, Do and ASK!)

Leon:

  • I hope to improve my time management and critical thinking skills. Managing multiple tasks efficiently is important to ensure I meet deadlines without compromising quality. Strengthening my critical thinking skills will also help me analyze situations better, make more informed decisions, and approach challenges with creative and practical solutions.
