Who are you, and what’s your role at Fyreflyz?
I’m Valerie—aka The Mother—a vibe curator who helps others connect with their stories, find their spark, and feel seen.
What brought you to Fyreflyz?
- At 40, life is quieter but fuller. There’s a calmness in knowing who I am and clarity in where I choose to invest my energy. I now seek spaces that honour intention, connection, and growth—Fyreflyz is one of them.
The Experience at Fyreflyz
- What drew me in was its authenticity. Here, purpose is not just a poster—it’s the people, the culture, and how we show up, even when no one’s watching.
- As someone who figured things out the hard way, I believe young people do not need fixing—they need to be believed in. They need room to explore, fail without shame, and be heard by adults who listen, not lecture.
- That is what I aim to do as a Volunteer Mentor—being present, intentional, and a steady guide for youths still discovering their voice. If my stories can spark honest conversations and help someone feel less alone, I know I am walking the right path.
- At Fyreflyz, youth empowerment is not a buzzword—it is a way of being. It is about trust, ownership, and growth—not proving, but becoming.

- To you who reading this and still figuring life out: You are not behind. The path is not always straight—and that is okay. Try, fail, rest, repeat. You are allowed to be a work in progress.
- Growth is messy, but meaningful. “Rising & thriving” means living in alignment and lifting others without dimming your own light.
